The simplest way I know how to describe my work is this: I help people get better at the parts of their job that don't come with an instruction manual.

Leadership. Relationships. Difficult conversations. Decision-making. Culture. Trust. Conflict. Communication. Pressure.
Sometimes that means a 5:00 AM conversation with a hockey coach in Sweden to help him prepare for an important decision. Sometimes it's sitting beside someone working through something they won’t discuss with anyone else. Sometimes I'm facilitating a room that needs to have a conversation it has been avoiding. Sometimes I'm helping a team get clear about who they want to be and how they need to behave to become it.
There isn't a silver-bullet, one-size-fits-all program I take everyone through. The work follows the need.

That's why I think of myself less as a traditional coach or consultant and more as someone who works alongside people. I ask questions. I listen. I challenge assumptions. I tell the truth as I see it. I help make the complex simple. And when necessary, I'll say what others in the room may be unwilling to share.
The people I work with don't need another person trying to be important in their world. They need someone they can trust inside it.
We call it coaching in the moment, because leadership doesn't conveniently schedule its hardest problems for your next coaching appointment.
